Ruvio Cordless Vacuum: Effortless Cleaning – Our Review

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had this experience: I’m deep in the zone vacuuming a carpet when all of a sudden, I push it just a bit too far, and the vacuum cord unplugs, abruptly turning off my vacuum and practically pulling the outlet cover off the wall in the process. Or I accidentally vacuum OVER the cord (a huge safety hazard), or the cord gets knotted while I’m vacuuming.

What I’m trying to say is that for the longest time, the vacuum cord was enemy number one around my house. It always caused the most problems when I vacuumed. But once I started using the Ruvio Cordless Vacuum, everything changed. Cleaning is SO MUCH EASIER now. Let me explain why.

What Is the Ruvio Cordless Vacuum?

I was first introduced to the Ruvio by my sister-in-law. I was complaining about how long it takes to vacuum my house, particularly with all of the cord problems that I just described, when she mentioned the Ruvio. She said she’d been interested in trying one out for a while but just hadn’t gotten around to it.

The next day, I ordered a Ruvio online, and since then, I’ve become obsessed. All of my friends will say that I’ve become the most annoying person in the world about Ruvio. It’s just so good! I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t have one!

The first awesome thing about the Ruvio, obviously, is the fact that it’s cordless. It runs on a lithium-ion battery, which is basically a rechargeable battery. I just keep it plugged in and charging when I’m not using it, and every time I need it, it’s fully charged and ready to go. Could not be easier.

Now anytime that I spill something on the floor, notice a dust bunny, or generally feel like it’s time to vacuum — things that usually would take me days or even weeks to get around to — it takes me all of two minutes to get up, grab the Ruvio, and suck up the dust and dirt.

Ruvio Features

Aside from the huge convenience of not having a cord, the other amazing thing about this product is that it does everything a normal vacuum does, but better. I can’t emphasize enough how much quality it feels has been put into the product design AND for a super reasonable price point. (If you’ve spent time researching vacuums, you know they can get EXPENSIVE.) Let me explain what I mean by high-quality design.

First of all, the filter on the vacuum is a HEPA-grade double filter system. (If you’re unfamiliar, a HEPA-grade filter is what you’re supposed to buy for air purifiers and AC units to make sure you aren’t breathing unclean air.)

Second, the suction power is insane. I’ve never owned a more powerful vacuum, which is shocking because this thing is so lightweight and portable. I’m used to having to go over spots on the floor at least a couple of times to suck up all of the dirt and dust, but sometimes I don’t even need to go over the entire floor with my Ruvio — everything gets suctioned into the vacuum, even from far away. You just have to see it to believe it.

Third, the attachments. Like any handheld vacuum worth your money, the Ruvio comes with a few super useful attachments, including a crevice tool and a brush cleaning system. The crevice tool is exactly what you would imagine — a thin, narrow-mouth attachment that latches onto the end of the vacuum so it can reach under and into small gaps between furniture and the floor. It’s super effective for getting under my bed, in the space between my dresser and desk, and behind my couch.

The brush cleaning attachment is a nice way to dust off and gently clean more sensitive surfaces before letting them be or vacuuming the discarded dust.

For such a small and easy-to-maneuver vacuum, the dust container is surprisingly huge — it has a 90-milliliter capacity, which usually I can go a month or so without emptying. Again, for a handheld vacuum product, that’s practically unheard of. Emptying the vacuum is super easy — it’s one of those types where you just press a button and the dust container detaches. All you have to do is dump the contents of the dust container in the trash and then reattach the container.

Money Back Guarantee

I have the standard Ruvio with the two attachments, but I believe they also offer a bundle option with more attachments as well. If you’re still on the fence, I also know for a fact that they have a great money-back policy, so you can try it out for 60 days and send it back for your money back in the event that you aren’t thrilled with the product.

Personally, I get nervous buying products online without this sort of policy, so I was really pleased to see that in the fine print. Although, with this particular product, I’m almost certain that you won’t be putting it to use.

Where Can I Use the Ruvio Cordless Vacuum?

If you have super thick carpeting or a fragile antique carpet, this might not be the product for you. I’ve found it to be super powerful, but I don’t know if it has the finesse to really deep-clean a heavy carpet or a carpet that needs a more delicate touch. I’d rely on professionals or a specialized vacuum for that.

But for pretty much anyone else, I guarantee this will make your cleaning process SO much easier and quicker. Just the fact that I don’t have to lug around a heavy piece of equipment and worry about the cord tangling and tripping me makes the job a million times easier.

I also use it to detail my car every week or so, which has gone a long way toward keeping the interior nice and clean. The crevice tool attachment is great for getting crumbs and little bits in the crevices of the seats, while the regular end of the vacuum works great on the floor of the car. Honestly, I didn’t even think about using it for my car until a few weeks in, and now I feel like I got two products for the price of one. It’s been wonderful.

Bottom Line — An All-in-One Vacuum

As I said, those with antique or super heavy-duty carpets might want to invest in a more specialized vacuum or carpet cleaning service. But for everyone else — particularly people like me, who can’t stand dealing with the vacuum cord and constantly complain about it — I can’t recommend Ruvio Cordless Vacuum enough. It’s everything I look for in a handheld vacuum: lightweight and portable, easy to charge with a long-lasting battery, powerful and useful attachments, and a high-quality dust filter.

I’d especially recommend it to anyone who enjoys cleaning their car’s interior or anyone with a pet that sheds a lot. I don’t have any pets, but I imagine this would make cleaning up their shedding a million times easier. The same goes if you have a pet dander or dust allergy — if you find yourself vacuuming a lot just to maintain your air quality and comfort in your home, consider buying a Ruvio. You’ll save yourself a lot of hassle and headaches.
