Bell + Howell Bionic Blade: Precision and Performance – Our Review

Let me preface this review by saying that I make a smoothie for breakfast almost every single day. I’ve been doing this for YEARS. Unless I’m away from home or have run out of all the ingredients, I’m having a smoothie for breakfast. It tastes good, goes down easy, and helps me start my day off exactly the way I like it.

Because of this, I consider myself a bit of a blender expert. I think I’ve tried every single blender on the market. Now, finally, I have officially found my favorite. The Bell + Howell Bionic Blade has officially dethroned Ninja in my own personal rankings. Let me explain why.

Exceptional Blade Performance and Longevity

One of the main issues with blenders is that the blades aren’t sharp enough or wear away too quickly. The sharpness of the blades is the entire point of a blender.

With dull blades, you can kind of chop and mix up ingredients, but not in the fully cohesive way you need to make a truly good smoothie, milkshake, or juice. If chopping and mixing were all you needed to do, you’d just use a cutting board and a mixing bowl.

But the whole point of a blender is that it can cut and blend ingredients down to what feels like the atom. And that is exactly why this blender has dethroned my Ninja. It’s so sharp it can literally pulverize ROCKS. (I haven’t tried this myself, but there’s a video demonstrating it on the website.)

Now, I know a blender with sharp blades will last a long time and blend at the highest quality. That’s what I suspected when I ordered it, and it’s been proven over and over now for the past several months.

I usually make fruit smoothies for breakfast, so I have my Bionic Blade blending a lot of ice and frozen fruit. At this point, I think I must’ve used it over 100 times, and it still seems as sharp as the first time I ever used it. Although I haven’t used it for this purpose, that sharpness would also be super helpful for blending up nuts and seeds to use as salad toppers or homemade granola.

Lightweight and Portable Design

Another thing I really like about this blender is how lightweight and portable it is. I think I’ve tried all of the heavy-duty blenders that plug into the wall, and while they do pack a lot of punch and power, they can also be a hassle to move around and store in the kitchen. (I’m always scared I’m going to drop one on my toes.)

Especially if you live in a tiny New York City apartment and have an itty-bitty kitchen like me. Considering how sharp the blades are and how much power this blender has, it’s SO light!

It easily fits into my tiny cabinets, and it’s portable. I can blend my smoothie and then take the whole thing with me on the subway to work. Unlike other portable blenders I’ve used, this one doesn’t leak, drip, or jam.

Unfortunately, I’m all too familiar with the experience of showing up to work with smoothie stains on my clothes because the portable blender bottle I thought was “leakproof” wasn’t at all. So far, after several weeks of using this blender and using it to transport my smoothie to work, I haven’t had any leakage problems at all.

Another element of the Bionic Blade that lends to its portability is that it’s powered fully by a rechargeable battery and no cords. So there’s no need to unplug your microwave every time you want to use it or rearrange your whole kitchen so you can access an outlet for the blender.

All you have to do is just fill up the blender and power it on! I charge mine for an hour or so once a week, and it’s more than enough to get me through my weekly use. (And that’s coming from someone who uses it literally every single day, sometimes multiple times a week.)

One drawback to this whole portability thing is size. A few times, I’ve wanted to make a double serving of something or just a bit more smoothie than normal. The Bionic Blade might be the perfect size for on-the-go smoothies and packing away nicely into my cabinets, but it’s definitely much smaller than some heavy-duty blenders out there. If you typically use your blender to serve more than one person at a time, unfortunately, this might not be the blender for you.

Dishwasher Safe and Savings

The Bionic Blade is also dishwasher safe, which is a huge plus. Something about me is that if a product needs to be hand-washed, I will simply never use it. So I appreciate that I can just throw this thing in the dishwasher, and it’s good to go.

I think they’re running a special offer right now, so you get a Bionic Blade, two sipping lids, and a sports lid when you buy a Bionic Blade. I wish this deal was going on when I bought mine! I usually drink my smoothie so fast that I can just rinse it out and set it out to dry once I’m done.

I only run it through the dishwasher after every three or so times that I use it. The lids, though, need to be washed every time, so it’s so nice that this deal comes with three lids. Jealous!

I think this is the perfect product for anyone who regularly blends up smoothies, juices, homemade sauce, or milkshakes. But I also think it could be good for anyone who *doesn’t* regularly make those kinds of foods but WANTS to. Think of this as the investment item that kickstarts your diet.

Once you’ve spent money on a blender, you’re not going to NOT use it, right? You could buy a Bionic Blade and use it as motivation to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet via smoothies and juices.

I don’t know, that’s just a thought. I just love this product so much that I wish everyone would go out and buy it, although I know that’s a little unrealistic, LOL. It makes me happy every time I use it, and I want that happiness to be shared with others!

For what this product is and what it does, I think it’s well worth the price point. I also believe there’s a pretty good money-back guarantee, so you can always try it out and return it if it doesn’t work out for you. (Trust me, you aren’t going to send it back. This blender is too awesome for that.)

Conclusion

Writing this super-long review has made me realize how many other people in my life would benefit from this blender. Christmas might be a few months away, but it’s never too early to start thinking about it. I’m going to add the Bionic Blender to my Christmas shopping list for more than one person.

This blender is powerful yet portable, has super sharp blades, is rechargeable, and has it all. If it came in an XL size so that I could occasionally choose to make more than one batch of whatever I’m blending, it would be my absolute perfect product. As it is, I’m more than a little obsessed. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone.
