Ever since I had kids, it’s felt like my house is one minor mishap away from imploding. I have three little ones, two right in the toddler stage, and if you have toddlers, you KNOW — they’re tiny one-man destruction machines.
It’s all I can do to stay on top of the toys scattered all around the house, couch pillows removed, and drawers constantly pulled open. Let alone the more difficult messes to clean up — markers on the walls and furniture, random stains that I’m afraid to look too closely at. Plus, all the everyday cleaning that needs to take place to keep a home clean.
I’ve been pretty overwhelmed by all of this for a while. Then one day, my husband came home with a load of groceries and some cleaning supplies. We’d run out of Windex and dish soap, but he also saw Grease Police sitting on the shelf and decided to give it a try.
Let me tell you, this one simple cleaning product has done more to calm my state of mind and help me get a grip on keeping our household in order than ANY other product I’ve tried. It’s such a simple fix, but the impact on my mental health and my household has been immeasurable. Let me explain exactly what this product does and why I would recommend it to anyone and everyone I know.
To put it simply, Grease Police is a degreasing product in a spray bottle. You spray it over the area in question, let it sit for a minute, and then use a rag or paper towel to wipe away the residue and the mess. There are a ton of degreasing products on the market. I’ve used some of them before and haven’t been blown away the way I was with Grease Police. So what makes this product so special?
First of all, it works WELL. If you’ve ever used a degreaser before, you know that sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. The hit-or-miss nature has made me hesitant to spend more money on degreasers. But Grease Police has gotten the job done EVERY time. I’ve used it to effectively clean up all the usual suspects — sticky, burnt residue in my pots and pans, oil splatters and grime on my stovetop, and glue residue on any number of surfaces (my seven-year-old is going through a glue phase).
But it’s also instantly removed stains that I wouldn’t expect it to be able to fix — dried paint on the kitchen table, magic marker on the floor, and mildew from the corners of the bathroom. It’s become my one-stop-shop for any messes involving something sticky, gooey, waxy, baked-on, or previously only fixable with steel wool and some serious elbow grease. And so far, it’s worked on nearly everything I’ve thrown at it. I can’t overstate how impressed I’ve been by the efficacy. And for less than $20! To me, that pricing is absolutely nuts.
Aside from the fact that it works and works WELL — which is not always a guarantee with these kinds of products, unfortunately — it also works FAST. If you’ve never used a degreaser before you might not know this, but usually you have to spray it on and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before you can wipe it away.
Maybe not a big deal when you live by yourself, but when you have toddlers running around the house? In the span of those 15 minutes, the house could go from perfectly calm to a total warzone. It’s more likely that one of my kids will get into the degreaser or I’ll forget about it entirely than actually come back in 15 minutes to clean it all up.
So the fact that Grease Police is so quick-acting — you only need to let it sit for a minute or so — is a huge deal for me. It makes cleanup so much quicker, easier, and more efficient. It’s become my number one cleaning staple in the month since my husband brought it home from Walmart.
Other things I like about Grease Police: It’s non-toxic and biodegradable. I’ll do what I have to do to keep my house clean, but I don’t like the idea of spraying chemicals around the home that are toxic to the environment. First, because I generally consider myself an eco-friendly person, and second, because if it’s toxic for the environment, I’m sure that it’s also not great for my kids.
The double whammy of non-toxic AND biodegradable makes me feel confident that it’s safe to use around the home with young children in the area (although, of course, I still make sure to store all of my cleaning products out of their reach).
It’s also lasted a really long time. As I mentioned, I use this thing almost every single day, sometimes more, and I’ve had it for a month now. I think I’m only halfway through the bottle. If this $18 product lasts for two months of everyday use, that’s pretty dang impressive if you ask me. I don’t know what other cleaning products will give you that kind of mileage.
Let me tell you a story to explain just how useful Grease Police has been for me. You know when you cook something on the stove, like a really saucy dish, and if you let it dry, the residue is crusted all over the pots and pans and becomes nearly impossible to remove? I’m talking it takes an overnight soak, a solid 20 minutes of scrubbing with iron wool, and probably another overnight soak after that.
That was the scenario I was facing the other day. I made pork chops with a barbecue sauce, and by the time I got around to cleaning up the kitchen, everything was crusted over and practically glued onto my pans. I almost despaired entirely until I remembered my Grease Police. I sprayed it all over the pans, left it for two minutes, and voila — movement! The crust was coming off the pans!
Granted, it still took three rounds with the Grease Police to get everything off. But I was absolutely flabbergasted that it worked at all. I was so stunned. Something that previously would’ve been put off for days took less than 10 minutes! What an amazing turn of events.
So, if you have kids, pets, or any reason to want a quick and nontoxic cleanup solution, I really cannot say enough good things about Grease Police. You can buy it online, have it on your doorstep in a matter of days, and forever change your cleaning habits and routine. I’m not one to normally rave like this about any product I bought online, let alone a cleaning product, but I think Grease Police is really worth it.
I think there’s a pretty good money-back guarantee, so if you’re still on the fence about this one, you can always try it out and send it back to get your money back if it doesn’t work out. But knowing how this has gone for me, I highly doubt you’ll end up sending it back. I’d bet this product is going to become a cleaning staple for a long time.
